Salpointe Catholic gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Eastmark Firebirds by a score of 3-1. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Firebirds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Salpointe Catholic was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 21-25, 25-15, 25-13.

Salpointe Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reagan Burgle, who had 16 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Burgle has posted since back in August of 2024.

Burgle wasn't the only good server: Salpointe Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in nine consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Coming up, Salpointe Catholic will face off against ALA - Queen Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eastmark, they will take on Thunderbird at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
