Softball Recap: York Catholic Comes Up Short

York Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-4 to the Fairfield Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in March.

York Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Fairfield, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York Catholic will take on William Penn at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.38 runs per game on average), something the Fighting Irish will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fairfield, they will challenge Southern Huntingdon County at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
