Norris faced Waverly in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Titans fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-0. The Titans' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Anden Papik was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Norris' defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Waverly, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
