Softball Recap: Woodlawn Starts Season with Loss at Home

Woodlawn unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Frankfort Redbirds on Monday, falling 10-4. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Redbirds: they've now lost four in a row.

Woodlawn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrea Kibler, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Kibler is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Coming up, Woodlawn will head out to challenge DuQuoin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Frankfort, they will face off against Carbondale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
