Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Jacob Huxoll and Keith Kliewer Leads Sutton over Heartland

If Heartland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sutton, they should've done a better job of containing Connor Hinrichs. The Mustangs took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 68-6 win over the Huskies for which the team can thank Hinrichs, who rushed for 160 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended one pass.

Sutton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jacob Huxoll and Keith Kliewer. Sutton received some extra help from Carson Cline, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

When it comes to explaining why Heartland lost, don't look at Nevada Gloystein. Despite the final result, he rushed for 41 yards and one score, and also picked up 52 receiving yards.

Sutton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 65.0 points this season. As for Heartland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Sutton will challenge Southern Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heartland, they will square off against Twin River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
