Softball Game Preview: Curtis Vikings vs. Bellarmine Prep Lions

Curtis is 9-1 against Bellarmine Prep since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Curtis Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Bellarmine Prep Lions at 4:00 p.m. Curtis comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Curtis came up short against Puyallup on Thursday, falling 22-4.

Melanie Spivey was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Spivey is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Hope Winer, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Bellarmine Prep took on Capital on Monday. Bellarmine Prep fell just short of Capital by a score of 16-14.

Halle Bjorkman and Teresa Rehberger did some serious damage despite the final result: Bjorkman scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-5, while Rehberger scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave Bjorkman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leoni Pendras, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Bellarmine Prep now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Curtis, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Curtis' way against Bellarmine Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Curtis made off with a 24-10 victory. Will Curtis repeat their success, or does Bellarmine Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
