Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brittany Saldivar and Juanita Dixon Lead Montbello to Victory

Montbello hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. Everything went their way against the Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls on Thursday as the Montbello Warriors made off with a 56-32 win.

Montbello was led to victory by Juanita Dixon and Brittany Saldivar. Dixon posted 20 points and three steals, while Saldivar went 7-for-15 to rack up 17 points and three steals. Those 17 points gave Saldivar a new career-high. Jameya McMillion was another key player, putting up nine points and eight boards.

Montbello's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Rocky Mountain Prep SMART, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Looking ahead, Montbello won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against KIPP Denver Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. KIPP Denver Collegiate will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Montbello surely won't give up without a fight. Rocky Mountain Prep SMART does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
