Preview: Southeastern Panthers vs. Amanda-Clearcreek Aces
The Southeastern Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Amanda-Clearcreek Aces at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Southeastern struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Tuesday (Unioto was 27% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Southeastern took a 49-32 bruising from Unioto. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southeastern has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Carter Fisher, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Gage Cheadle, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, Amanda-Clearcreek's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Liberty Union on the road and fell 70-36. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amanda-Clearcreek in their matchups with Liberty Union: they've now lost eight in a row.
Southeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Amanda-Clearcreek, they bumped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Things could have been worse for Southeastern, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 82-65 loss to Amanda-Clearcreek when the teams last played back in December of 2017.
