Basketball Game Preview: Show Low Cougars vs. Monument Valley Mustangs

The Show Low Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Monument Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Show Low is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Show Low fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Alchesay on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 62-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monument Valley). They blew past Round Valley 72-44 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Mustangs have posted since November 16, 2023.

Show Low's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Monument Valley, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-10.

Show Low strolled past Monument Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2023 by a score of 63-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Show Low since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
