Basketball Recap: Plattsmouth Skates Past Laurel-Concord-Coleridge with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plattsmouth). They blew past the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears, posting a 79-50 win. With that victory, the Blue Devils brought their scoring average up to 53.9 points per game.

Leading Plattsmouth to victory were Derek Nanke and Nathan Frederick. Nanke went 7 for 11 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds, while Frederick went 7 of 8 on his way to 21 points. Those 18 points gave Nanke a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Johnson, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points.

Plattsmouth was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge still got an impressive performance from Gibson Roberts, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points. Roberts' evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Johnson, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Plattsmouth and bumps their season record up to 2-5. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.

Plattsmouth didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-38 defeat against Wayne on the 28th. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-63 loss against Winnebago on the 28th.
