Baseball Recap: Cosby Takes a Loss

Cosby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against Van Buren County, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Van Buren County this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-5 on Monday.

Cosby saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage McCarty, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those hits were McCarty's first of the season.

Cosby's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8-1. As for Van Buren County, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cosby will face off against Cocke County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Van Buren County, they will head out on the road to challenge Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Van Buren County's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Campbell County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
