Football Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Tyrone's Winning Streak

Tyrone had taken Bellwood-Antis down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Golden Eagles lost to the Blue Devils at home by a 26-7 margin. The matchup marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Eli Woomer threw for 148 yards and one TD. Brayden Parsons was his top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Caleb Whitby rushed for 45 yards.

Alex McCartney was his usual excellent self, rushing for 149 yards and three scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry for Bellwood-Antis. McCartney is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 104 every time he's taken the field this season. Chase Plummer made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

With the defeat, Tyrone broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2. As for Bellwood-Antis, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Tyrone is set to face off against their familiar foe Bishop Guilfoyle at 7:00 p.m. on the 27th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Golden Eagles 14.6, the Marauders 13.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Bellwood-Antis will challenge rival Philipsburg-Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: McCartney and Colton Chapman.
