Baseball Recap: Twin Lakes Gets the Win

Twin Lakes hadn't done well against Lafayette Central Catholic recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Indians skirted past the Knights 5-3. The Indians' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mason Brummett was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Cooper Dold was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Aiden Garcia also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Twin Lakes' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Twin Lakes will challenge Clinton Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-1 victory against Lebanon on the 10th.
