Volleyball Recap: Towanda Black Knights vs. Mountain View Eagles
Towanda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mountain View Eagles. The Black Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Towanda wouldn't go down easily and took Mountain View into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-17, 25-20, 19-25, 15-11.
Mountain View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Kilmer, who had 22 blocks, seven kills, and seven digs. Kilmer is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now had two or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Aubrey Sanders was another key player, getting 26 assists and three aces.
Towanda's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mountain View, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Coming up, Towanda will host Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain View, they will take on Lake-Lehman at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
