Softball Recap: Benjamin Russell Wins Going Away Against Sylacauga

Benjamin Russell won the last time they faced Sylacauga and things went their way on Thursday too. The Benjamin Russell Wildcats blew past the Sylacauga Aggies 14-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Macie Knox and Lydia Montgomery did most of the damage at the plate: Knox went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Montgomery scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Knox has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Arionna Ware, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Benjamin Russell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sylacauga only posted a batting average of .265.

Benjamin Russell's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coincidentally, Benjamin Russell and Sylacauga will both be playing Reeltown the next time they take the field. Benjamin Russell will host Reeltown at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sylacauga will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
