North Valley took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against Phoenix, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Pirates 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

North Valley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Phoenix, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: North Valley beat the Pirates by a score of 8-6 later that day.
