Basketball Game Preview: Denver South Ravens vs. Vista PEAK Prep Bison

The Denver South Ravens will challenge the Vista PEAK Prep Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Denver South's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Wednesday, Denver South was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to George Washington. While the Ravens didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 22-14 in the first quarter.

Denver South might have lost, but man, Dominic Rhoades-Martinez was a machine: he went 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight assists and three steals. Rhoades-Martinez's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brody Shepherd, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Vista PEAK Prep came up short against Rangeview on Tuesday and fell 70-57. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Raiders are ranked second).

Vista PEAK Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Denver South, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.

Denver South was able to grind out a solid victory over Vista PEAK Prep when the teams last played on January 14th, winning 71-60. Will Denver South repeat their success, or does Vista PEAK Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
