Basketball Recap: Ennis Comes Up Short

Ennis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Terrell Tigers. The Lions were down 48-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Among those leading the charge was Markeita Shaw, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Aubree Tate, who posted 12 points.

Ennis' defeat dropped their record down to 6-25. As for Terrell, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-18.

Ennis and Terrell could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Ennis will square off against Red Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 910 places (1021 vs. 111). Similarly, Terrell (ranked 674th) will meet Midlothian Heritage (ranked 139th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
