Recap: Walnut Hills Eagles vs. Milford Eagles
The Milford Eagles typically have all the answers at home, but on Thursday the Walnut Hills Eagles proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 39-35 victory over the Eagles. The win was all the more spectacular given Walnut Hills' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Milford is ranked 43rd).
Milford lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Violet Shuluga, who scored 13 points along with four steals. The contest was Shuluga's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Gabby Chadwell was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Walnut Hills' win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Milford, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.
Walnut Hills will take on Little Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Milford, they will head out on the road to face off against Loveland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
