Softball Recap: Concord Comes Up Short

Concord blew Miramonte out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Miramonte got their revenge. The Bears fell just short of the Matadors by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Bears couldn't push the score so high this time.

Shay Caban was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Concord has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Miramonte, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Concord is set to square off against their familiar foe Mt. Diablo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Miramonte will challenge rival Las Lomas at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
