Jefferson City waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Battle Spartans with a sharp 16-1 victory. While the Jays didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-24), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jefferson City's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Battle, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Looking ahead, Jefferson City will host Warrensburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Battle, they will head out to square off against Hickman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
