Volleyball Recap: Marshall Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Marshall had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Westville Tigers. The Lions were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Tigers, so the Lions were just returning the favor.

Marshall not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Westville to exactly 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19.

Lilly Ross paced Marshall's offense, picking up eight kills. Ross got some help from Harper Richardson and her 12 assists. Ross was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Westville, their loss ended a 13-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 19-5.

Looking ahead, Marshall will head out to square off against Red Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westville, they will welcome Watseka at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
