Recap: Mountain View Academy Mustangs vs. DCP Alum Rock Lobos
The Mountain View Academy Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 61-44 bruising from DCP Alum Rock. Mountain View Academy has struggled against the Lobos recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Christopher Mercado and Daniel Malo certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Mercado scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Malo scored 14 points.
Tony Clarida continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for DCP Alum Rock, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. Clarida is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Isidro Cigarroa Fores was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Mountain View Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for DCP Alum Rock, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.
Mountain View Academy will take on the Falcons at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pacific Union College Prep is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for DCP Alum Rock, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully KIPP San Jose Collegiate focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
