Basketball Recap: Wilcox's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wilcox can now relate to. They took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Mateo Bearcats on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 429th in California, while the Bearcats are ranked 208th in California).

Despite the loss, Wilcox still got an impressive performance from Semaj Clark, who posted 22 points. Brayden Rosa was another key player, putting up nine points.

The loss snapped Wilcox's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-11 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for San Mateo, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Wilcox does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for San Mateo, they will face off against Westmont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
