Softball Recap: Point Arena's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Point Arena made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Credo, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Point Arena Pirates were the clear victor by a 15-6 margin over the Credo Gryphon on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pirates needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Serina Azbill was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Ally Mejia was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Point Arena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the win, Point Arena broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3. As for Credo, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Point Arena will head out on the road to challenge Clear Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Credo, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-0 loss against Piner on the 15th.
