Basketball Recap: Durham School of the Arts Comes Up Short

Durham School of the Arts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Carrboro Jaguars, falling 77-53. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-19.

Bakari Watkins was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards for Carrboro. Watkins' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Sam Kanjorski was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine assists.

Durham School of the Arts' loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Carrboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Durham School of the Arts will square off against Vance County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Durham School of the Arts is facing Vance County at the right time seeing as Vance County is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Carrboro, they will face off against Louisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Carrboro is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.5 points per game this season.
