Volleyball Recap: Teays Valley Christian Comes Up Short

Teays Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ignite Athletics Flames. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Flames 25-16 in the first set.

Teays Valley Christian started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-10, 25-15, 25-19.

Ignite Athletics found their leader in sophomore Kiera Hager, who had 12 digs.

Teays Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ignite Athletics, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Teays Valley Christian will square off against rival Mount Hope Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ignite Athletics is set to take on their familiar foe New Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
