Basketball Recap: Lafayette Christian Academy Knights vs. New Iberia Yellowjackets
On Tuesday, the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights faced the New Iberia Yellowjackets in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lafayette Christian Academy took a 46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellowjackets. Lafayette Christian Academy has not had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
New Iberia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Austin Delahoussaye, who scored ten points along with six assists. Otis Anderson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Lafayette Christian Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 20-5 record this season. As for New Iberia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
Lafayette Christian Academy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. As for New Iberia, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Westgate will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 12th).
