Football Recap: Shy Murphy and Alie Bangura Secure Win for Middle Tennessee Christian + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Middle Tennessee Christian faced off against Concord Christian on Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 42-35 victory over the Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Alie Bangura and Shy Murphy. Bangura rushed for 183 yards and three scores while picking up 7.0 yards per carry while Murphy rushed for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Murphy's longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

The win made it two in a row for Middle Tennessee Christian and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points over those games. As for Concord Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle Tennessee Christian will venture away from home to challenge Providence Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Concord Christian, they will head out to face off against King's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
