Basketball Recap: Coppell Piles Up the Points Against Hanks

While Coppell didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Hanks Knights 89-57 on Thursday. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 29 points or more this season.

Hanks lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jacob Perez, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 22 points. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Saucedo, who went 7-for-16 on his way to 15 points.

Coppell moved to 7-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Hanks, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Coppell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 96-32 victory against Midway on the 5th. As for Hanks, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-49 win against Georgetown on the 5th.
