Springfield had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They beat the Cloverleaf Colts by a goal, winning 3-2. Parker Kozy had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Springfield.

Cloverleaf's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
