Baseball Game Preview: Clear Lake Falcons vs. Dawson Eagles

For the second straight game, Clear Lake will face off against Dawson. The Falcons will face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Lake is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Clear Lake is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Dawson.

For Dawson's part, Bennett Schnee was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Maddox Botas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Clear Lake pushed their record up to 24-10-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Dawson, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-10.
