Soccer Game Preview: Saraland vs. Cottage Hill Christian Academy

Saraland is 0-7 against Cottage Hill Christian Academy since February of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Spartans will head out to challenge the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Saraland lost 4-1 to St. Michael Catholic on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Saraland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while St. Michael Catholic are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Cottage Hill Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Bayshore Christian. That's two games in a row now that Cottage Hill Christian Academy have lost by just one goal.

Cottage Hill Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for Saraland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8-1.

Saraland might still be hurting after the 5-2 defeat they got from Cottage Hill Christian Academy when the teams last played back in March of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Spartans were down 3-0.
