Basketball Game Preview: Catawba Ridge Copperheads vs. Clover Blue Eagles

The Catawba Ridge Copperheads will challenge the Clover Blue Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Catawba Ridge managed to keep up with Rock Hill until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Catawba Ridge came up short against Rock Hill, falling 43-21. The match marked the Copperheads' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Clover came tearing into Friday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Falcons 64-30. Given the Blue Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Falcons are ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Catawba Ridge has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Clover, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.

Catawba Ridge was taken down by Clover 57-24 in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. Thankfully for Catawba Ridge, Aylesha Wade (who went 6 of 13 on her way to 19 points along with six assists and three blocks) won't be suiting up this time.
