Softball Game Preview: Lisle Lions vs. Streator Bulldogs

Lisle is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Streator a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Lisle Lions will be playing at home against the Streator Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Aurora Christian hit Lisle with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions fell 8-5 to the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Streator didn't have quite enough to beat Manteno on Tuesday and fell 7-6.

Makenna Ondrey put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That one hit allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Mya Zavada stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Morgan Kostal, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Lisle's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Streator, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
