Softball Recap: Jena Beats Kinder for Their Third Straight Victory

Jena had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Kinder Yellowjackets. The Giants might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by six runs or more this season.

Kiette Cooper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 28 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Callie Decker was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Triniti Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jena kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Jena's record now sits at 27-6. As for Kinder, they dropped their record down to 18-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Jena will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
