Elizabeth Forward took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Laurel Highlands, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors skirted past the Mustangs 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted against the Mustangs since April 15, 2015.

Charlie Nigut was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on AJ Grese, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jacob Peterson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Elizabeth Forward hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laurel Highlands struck out 15 times.
