Volleyball Game Preview: West Field Longhorns vs. Green Canyon Wolves

The West Field Longhorns will head out to take on the Green Canyon Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

West Field came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to Ridgeline.

West Field was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-20, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Green Canyon unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Sky View, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolves have suffered since March 8th.

West Field's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Green Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: West Field has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Green Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

West Field couldn't quite get it done against Green Canyon in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Longhorns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
