Basketball Game Preview: Taylor County Vikings vs. Chattahoochee County Panthers

Two dominant guards in Brayden Ellison and Champ Simpson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Taylor County Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the Chattahoochee County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Taylor County comes in on nine and Chattahoochee County on six.

Last Saturday, Taylor County earned a 67-60 win over Central. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Hawks are ranked 382nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Chattahoochee County took their game on Monday with ease, bagging an 87-24 victory over Furlow Charter School. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Chattahoochee County is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Taylor County, they pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Taylor County came out on top in a nail-biter against Chattahoochee County when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 43-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Taylor County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
