Preview: Cedar Hill Longhorns vs. Trinity Leadership Tigers

After six games on the road, Cedar Hill is heading back home. They will take on the Trinity Leadership Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cedar Hill is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trinity Leadership in Texas (Cedar Hill is ranked 155th, while Trinity Leadership is ranked 1030th).

Last Saturday, Cedar Hill came up short against Atascocita and fell 63-54.

Meanwhile, Trinity Leadership had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Taylor 67-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

The match pitted two key players against one another: Austin Lockwood and Treos Richardson. Lockwood had a solid game on Saturday and scored 7 points along with 3 steals. Meanwhile, Richardson was balling out in the loss, shooting 4-for-6 from deep and dropping a double-double on 26 points and 17 rebounds.

Cedar Hill's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Trinity Leadership, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Cedar Hill was dealt a bruising 67-39 loss at the hands of Trinity Leadership when the teams last played back in December of 2017. Thankfully for Cedar Hill, Tyreek Smith (who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 19 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
