Baseball Recap: Bartram Trail Takes a Loss

Bartram Trail lost against Lincoln back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bears took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans.

Bartram Trail got a good showing from Josh Kelton, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kelton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Max Wilkerson and Landon Tippie stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wilkerson went 1-for-4 with one home run, while Tippie scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That home run marked the first that Wilkerson launched this season.

Bartram Trail has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Lincoln, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.

Bartram Trail and Lincoln are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bears will head out to face off against Tocoi Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will host Gulf Breeze at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Dolphins at the right time seeing as the Dolphins are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
