Baseball Recap: Seneca Golden Eagles vs. Paul VI Eagles
It was a Battle of the Birds when Seneca duked it out with Paul VI on Thursday. The Golden Eagles took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Vaughn Worthing was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Worthing was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Alex Argabright was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Seneca and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Paul VI, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.
