Softball Game Preview: Royalton Royals vs. Holdingford Huskers

The Royalton Royals will head out on the road to face off against the Holdingford Huskers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Royalton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with seven straight defeats, while Holdingford will come in with three straight wins.

Royalton's last matchup with Pierz could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Tuesday. The Royals came up short against the Pioneers, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holdingford). Everything went their way against Eden Valley-Watkins on Wednesday as they made off with a 17-10 victory. The result was nothing new for the Huskers, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

Royalton's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Holdingford, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Royalton came out on top in a nail-biter against Holdingford when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 11-10. Do the Royals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
