Basketball Recap: Maple Valley Takes a Loss

Maple Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against the St. Philip Catholic Central Fighting Tigers, falling 44-18. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-5.

Ines Sanchez Feito was Maple Valley's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Sanchez Feito also led the team in rebounds with six.

Maple Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12.

Maple Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-46 defeat against Union City on the 18th. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, they will welcome Burr Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Burr Oak will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something St. Philip Catholic Central surely won't give up without a fight.
