Basketball Game Preview: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. Stevenson Pirates

The Moreno Valley Vikings and the Stevenson Pirates will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Moreno Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

Stevenson is hoping to do what Ocean View couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Moreno Valley's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Moreno Valley strolled past Ocean View with points to spare, taking the game 52-37.

Jamall Thompson was his usual excellent self, putting up 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyetice Hayes, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Stevenson had just enough and edged Palo Verde Valley out 57-54 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Moreno Valley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points per game. As for Stevenson, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
