Volleyball Recap: Esparto Comes Up Short

Esparto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Futures Knights.

Esparto was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Futures work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13, 26-24.

Futures had a senior duo take command as Viktoria Esyutin had 27 assists and ten aces and Nikka Vinokurov had 24 digs and three aces.

Esparto's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Esparto will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westlake Charter at 5:30 p.m. on September 10. As for Futures, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Natomas at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
