Basketball Game Preview: Fort Defiance Indians vs. Stuarts Draft Cougars

The Fort Defiance Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Stuarts Draft Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Fort Defiance's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matchups.

Fort Defiance took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Buffalo Gap, posting an 80-33 victory. That 47 point margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.

Meanwhile, Stuarts Draft strolled past Buffalo Gap with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-37. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while the Bison are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort Defiance is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points over those games. As for Stuarts Draft, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.

Things could have been worse for Fort Defiance, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-55 loss to Stuarts Draft in their previous meeting back in January. Can Fort Defiance avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
