Hayden Rouse was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Jenkins, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and two stolen bases while going 2-for-2. He also scored three runs, which is notable because Eastern Hancock is 8-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brennan Noah, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Eastern Hancock hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Frankton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past Cowan 7-6.
Oliver Baker and Kendall Harvey did most of the damage at the plate: Baker went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Harvey got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those doubles marked the first that Baker has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Jones, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Eastern Hancock's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Frankton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
Frankton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Eastern Hancock hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. It's a different story for Frankton, though, as they've only averaged .211. Will they be able to contain Eastern Hancock's hitters?
