Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Cupertino's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Cupertino came out on top against MacDonald on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Condor with a sharp 10-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won 12 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jasmyne Llanos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Cupertino's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Talitha Vaughn, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Another was Maddison See, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Cupertino has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for MacDonald, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Cupertino will be playing in front of their home fans against Lynbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
