Basketball Recap: Lisle Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lisle can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 57-20 loss at the hands of the Phillips Wildcats. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

When it comes to explaining why Lisle lost on Tuesday, don't look at Ally Russell. Despite the final result, she posted seven points and five rebounds.

Phillips got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dajia Cohen out in front who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points in addition to six assists and five steals. That's the most assists Cohen has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nakiyah Williams, who went 5-for-7 en route to 11 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Lisle's loss dropped their record down to 14-20. As for Phillips, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season.

Lisle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Phillips, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 39-25 win against IC Catholic Prep on the 27th.
